MOST RECENT ON THE BLOG
Today is Valentine’s Day and while we both love love, neither of us have ever been huge Valentine’s Day celebrators. We’ll definitely recognize it & celebrate it because we (really, really) love our husbands, but sometimes it can just feel a little cheesy or forced.
I’m trying not to say it too much, but it really is 100% true, being Conley’s mama keeps getting better and better. Conley is the sweetest baby, and I am loving watching her grow and change and take in the world around her (also simultaneously crying because it’s happening all too fast!). I can’t believe we are officially out of the “4th trimester” and my little teeny girl is no longer a newborn.
Both of our families are sticking to a strict budget in February, also known as “No Spend February”. With that in mind, we wanted to share some ideas for some very budget friendly ideas to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your significant other! Here are a few ideas to get your creative wheels spinning.
Last weekend, our friends and family hosted the most beautiful shower for Collins. It was absolutely a dream shower & I was blown away by the beauty of the shower, the amount of people that came to show their love and support, and how much fun we had celebrating this little one!
Although I’ve shared a couple sneak peeks of Conley’s nursery, but I wanted to share my inspiration just in case it may help you find a couple great items for your nursery.
Well the first of month of Conley’s life we were so proud that we had made it a month. She was still alive, we were alive and we were kind of getting a hang of this whole parenting thing. While we know we still don’t know exactly what we’re doing, the second month it sure does feel like we’ve got a pretty good thing going. We are loving being her parents and how interactive Conley is now.
Many of you have been checking in on me and asking how my time back at work has gone, and I wanted to share with you a little bit about the last two weeks and also share why I am loving my job even more now as a new mom.
We always love a solid recommendation from a friend & there are so many things that we have really been loving lately that we wanted to share with you. There are a lot of different things in a lot of different categories so hopefully there’s a little something for everyone!
As of Monday, I am officially 30 weeks pregnant! Earlier this week someone asked if I felt like pregnancy had gone fast or slow. I answered “both”.
Trey & I exchanged stockings early this year because I included some golf things in his stocking and he since he was going golfing today, I wanted him to be able to put some of his gifts to good use! Since we exchanged early, I thought I would share what he got me since he totally killed the gift giving game this year & I know there are many of you who are scrambling to find last minute gift ideas!
It’s time for a little Reindeer Games update! We haven’t gotten totally in the thick of the games yet & things can change at a moment’s notice, but here are the games that we’ve played so far and the scoring from each!
Christmas is a season filled with joy, celebration, merriment, and festivities. It can also be a time filled with grief, sorrow, and longing. More often than not, it is filled with all of the above at the exact same time.
I’ve been looking forward to sharing my birth story with you all since Conley was born. My birth story isn’t anything like I would have expected, but regardless of how it happened we got to welcome our beautiful, healthy baby girl into the world on November 7th, 2018.
Are you sending out Christmas cards this year? Is it on your never-ending holiday to-do list to get those ordered? There are so many places that you can order your holiday cards from but one of our newest favorite places is Basic Invite!
This might have been one of our favorites to pick out favorites for & the hardest to narrow it down! There are so many beauty gift sets and favorites that are on our wish lists! Make sure to add one (or three) of these to your own personal list!
Basically, this is a list of things that we either have or want! If you’ve got a girl in your life who you aren’t sure what to buy for, here are a few ideas on what she might want to receive this holiday season!
Why are the men in our life always the hardest to shop for? All of the gifts on this gift guide have been husband approved & we hope that it helps you out as you shop for the men in your life!

Thanksgiving is in exactly one week which means we are getting very close to the season of Advent! While we will be focusing on Thanksgiving, we wanted to go ahead and share a few recommendations for Advent resources so that you can get them ordered before Advent begins!
Listen, we get it. This time of year is completely nuts & you barely have time to keep up with Halloween, prepping for Thanksgiving, (and if you’re anything like us) getting ready for Christmas! You hardly have time to fit it all in so you definitely don’t have time to spend perusing for the perfect sweater for fall.
We are in the final countdown for Conley’s arrival & will be sharing her nursery reveal on the blog soon, however, Collins’s nursery will be a work in progress over the next several months so I thought I would just share a little bit of a sneak peak into the inspiration behind it in the meantime!
I cannot believe we are already at the halfway point of the pregnancy. In some ways it has flown by and in other ways it feels like I have been pregnant for a year!
Regardless of what your current season of life, it can be easy to not focus on your marriage. We wanted to just share a quick list of some of our very favorite marriage books!
I can’t even believe that I have a bag under the desk in my bedroom that I’m taking to the hospital when I go into labor. It seems a little surreal that the time is actually almost here, and that before we know it we will be on our way to the hospital to meet our baby! I am now 37 weeks and a couple days, and after this week I feel like it truly could be any day, so I am preparing myself by trying to keep the house clean and keeping a bag for Kyle and I packed so that we are ready to go.
In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness month, we felt that it was extremely important to share a survivor’s story. This story was originally told on Kat Armstrong’s blog as a part of her #METOO series & is being re-shared here with permission from the author.
When we first began planning our blog posts for this year, I had wanted to share with all of you my plan to get back in shape postpartum. I wanted to be able to share my extensive plans on how I was going to be eating better and the exercise plans that I had for myself to gain lean muscle and lose the excess body fat. However I am now 3 months postpartum and my plan looks nothing like I had anticipated.
